Visual Description
The All-Pervading is an oil on canvas painting. The composition features a heavily draped, monumental, and androgynous figure enveloped by large wings. This figure is positioned as if hovering in space, gazing deep into a globe or crystal ball located at the center of the work. The figure's robes appear weighty, yet the subject seems to defy gravity.
Production and Location
The artwork was produced between 1887 and 1890. It is currently part of the collection at Tate Britain and is on loan from Tate Britain to the Watts Gallery in Compton, Guildford.
