The Bataven defeat the Romans by the Rhine. Battle with two defeated Roman soldiers and a horse, behind it the advancing armies of the Bataviers. Fourth performance in a series of twelve scenes of the Batavier rebellion against the Romans (SK-A-421/432), purchased by the States General in 1613.
