This Koran in scroll form opens with an illuminated frontispiece with lappets, decorated with hatayi blossoms on gold and lapis blue ground, and rosette flowers, gold branches and tiny gold leaves. The border is filled with gilded branches and leaves on a black ground. Saz leaves and hatayi blossoms form a cartouche at the top of the illuminated field. At the top of the serlevha illumination a flap of leather has been attached, the outer surface of which is decorated with leaves and flowers on gold branches on a cherry coloured ground.
