Studio Of Louis Comfort Tiffany (? – ?)

Renowned for pioneering Art Nouveau glasswork, the Studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany created iconic lamps and stained-glass windows that continue to captivate with their organic forms and vibrant colors—discover the luminous beauty within their collection.

Louis Comfort Tiffany called his glassware “favrile,” which derived from the old English Saxon word fabrile (hand-wrought), to emphasize that his Corona plant produced hand-blown glass. His flower form vases were especially popular decorative art objects that made imaginative connections to the natural world but were never truly intended to function as flower holders. This vase was a wedding present given to the donor’s mother, Grace Armitage Wilcox Fraser (1882-1950), in 1903. The museum also owns the wedding dress that the young woman wore that day.
