Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Paul Emile Nicolié was a painter, printmaker, etcher, and art expert. He received his training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, studying under Gustave Wappers. As a practitioner of the Romanticism movement, his diverse body of work encompassed genre scenes, still lifes, hunting scenes, landscapes, and animal representations.
