Das Vereinigte Königreich von Großbritannien und Nordirland , kurz Vereinigtes Königreich , ist ein auf den Britischen Inseln vor der Nordwestküste Kontinentaleuropas gelegener europäischer Staat und bildet den größten Inselstaat Europas. Das Vereinigte Königreich ist eine Union aus den vier Landesteilen England, Wales, Schottland und Nordirland. Im täglichen Sprachgebrauch wird es auch schlicht als Großbritannien oder England bezeichnet. Jedoch stellt England in der eigentlichen Bedeutung nur den größten Landesteil dar, während Großbritannien die Hauptinsel der Britischen Inseln bezeichnet . Mit rund 66,4 Millionen Einwohnern steht das Vereinigte Königreich unter den bevölkerungsreichsten Staaten Europas nach Russland und Deutschland an dritter Stelle. Es ist Gründungsmitglied der NATO sowie der Vereinten Nationen. Es ist Atommacht, ständiges Mitglied des UN-Sicherheitsrates und einer der G7-Staaten. Von 1973 bis 2020 war es Mitglied der EWG bzw. später der Europäischen Union. Aufgrund eines Referendums am 23. Juni 2016 wurde mit Ablauf des 31. Januar 2020 der Austritt aus der Europäischen Union vollzogen.

The Crypt School

The Crypt School is a grammar school with academy status for boys and girls located in the city of Gloucester. This school has become the only coeducational selective school in Gloucester. This school has been an all boys school for almost 500 years but in 2018, it became coeducational. The sixth form has been coeducational for about 30 years and soon the crypt school will be fully coeducational. In 2018 the school allowed about 1/3 year seven girls, and 2/3 year seven boys, allowing 150 new students into the school. The school was founded in 1539 by Joan Cooke with money inherited from her husband John.

The Nelson Museum was a small museum housed in a Grade II listed Georgian Merchant's house on South Quay in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. It was formed from the collection of local agriculturalist Ben Burgess, who was a lifelong collector of Nelson related artefacts. Opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 2002, the museum celebrated the life and times of Admiral Horatio Nelson. There were galleries, a new temporary exhibition every two years, and interactive exhibits and games for children.The museum was forced to close in October 2019 due to declining visitor numbers and the withdrawal of funding by Great Yarmouth Borough Council. The collection, comprising over 2,000 items including an oil portrait of Nelson and original letters written by him, was put into storage.

The Novium

The Novium is a museum in Chichester, West Sussex, southern England. The name comes from the Roman name for the city, Noviomagus Reginorum.The museum, designed by the architect Keith Williams following an architectural design competition managed by RIBA Competitions, has an area of 1,300 sq m which is approximately 2.4 times the size of the previous museum in Little London. The building is divided into three floors each of which will contain a gallery for exhibition. It contains a research and learning room as well as a collection store for the social history collection. The museum is built directly over the top of the Chichester's Roman Bath House complex which are displayed in the ground floor gallery.The museum has over 350,000 objects of geological, archaeological and social historic interest. The social history and geological collections is made up of some 50,000 objects which are housed within the new building, whilst the archaeological collection is contained in a purpose built store within the Discovery Centre located at Fishbourne Roman Palace.The museum was opened on 8 July 2012.

Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Museum

The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards is a cavalry regiment of the British Army, and the senior Scottish regiment. The regiment, through the Royal Scots Greys, is the oldest surviving Cavalry Regiment of the Line in the British Army. The regiment is currently based at Leuchars Station, as part of the Scottish 51st Infantry Brigade.
