San Francisco , offiziell City and County of San Francisco , ist eine Stadt und eine Metropolregion im US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien an der Westküste der Vereinigten Staaten am Pazifischen Ozean. Mit 883.305 Einwohnern ist sie die viertgrößte Stadt Kaliforniens. Im globalen Vergleich gilt sie neben ähnlich großen Städten wie etwa Frankfurt am Main oder Amsterdam als mittelgroße Weltstadt. Der Name der Stadt ist spanischen Ursprungs. San Francisco ist nach dem Heiligen Franziskus, also Franz von Assisi, benannt.

Dazu gehören das Legion of Honor im Lincoln Park und das M. H. de Young Memorial Museum im Golden Gate Park. Seit dem 1. November 2018 leitet der Brite Thomas P. Campbell die Museen als Direktor und geschäftsführender Vorstand. Er folgte auf Max Hollein, der im August 2018 Direktor des Metropolitan Museums geworden war.

The Richmond Group also known as the Richmond School, is a group of American Impressionist painters who worked in the Richmond, Indiana, area from the late 19th Century through the mid-20th Century. While the Richmond Group had no formal organization, many of the artists were affiliated with, and exhibited at, the Art Association of Richmond, Indiana, now known as the Richmond Art Museum.
