Chester es una ciudad ubicada en el noroeste de Inglaterra que hace frontera con Gales. Capital del condado de Cheshire, se encuentra en un importante nudo de comunicaciones ya que al norte está la península de Wirral y Liverpool. Al este, Manchester; al oeste, el norte de Gales con la línea ferroviaria hasta Holyhead; y al sur, la cercana ciudad galesa de Wrexham. El río Dee atraviesa el centro de la ciudad. Chester es una de las ciudades amuralladas mejor conservadas de Inglaterra. La ciudad tiene su origen en la Deva Victrix romana, fundada en la década de 70 del siglo I en tiempos del emperador Vespasiano. El anfiteatro y sus murallas dan testimonio de este pasado romano. La característica arquitectura de los edificios del centro, así como, las murallas son muy populares entre los turistas. Además, Chester tiene una importante catedral y varios centros comerciales. Grosvenor Museum is a museum in Chester, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Its full title is The Grosvenor Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, with Schools of Science and Art, for Chester, Cheshire and North Wales. It takes its name from the family name of the Dukes of Westminster, who are major landowners in Cheshire. The museum opened in 1886, it was extended in 1894, and major refurbishments took place between 1989 and 1999. Its contents include archaeological items from the Roman period, paintings, musical instruments, and a room arranged as a Victorian parlour.

Chester Castle

Chester Castle is in the city of Chester, Cheshire, England. It is sited at the southwest extremity of the area bounded by the city walls. The castle stands on an eminence overlooking the River Dee. In the castle complex are the remaining parts of the medieval castle together with the neoclassical buildings designed by Thomas Harrison which were built between 1788 and 1813. Parts of the neoclassical buildings are used today as Crown Courts and as a military museum. The museum and the medieval remains are a tourist attraction.

The Countess of Chester is the main NHS hospital for Chester and its surrounding area. It currently has 625 beds, general medical departments and a 24-hour accident and emergency unit. It is managed by the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which was one of the first Foundation Trusts, formed in 2004.
