Providence [1]​ es la capital y la ciudad más grande de Rhode Island en los Estados Unidos, y una de las primeras ciudades en ser fundadas en ese país.[2]​ Ubicada en el condado de Providence, la ciudad es la segunda más grande de Nueva Inglaterra. La población de Providence en 2010 era de 178 042 habs., mientras que la de su área metropolitana era de 1 600 856 habs. Anteriormente apodada la «Colmena de la Industria», Providence empezó a promocionarse como «la Capital Creativa» en 2009 para hacer énfasis en sus recursos educativos y en su comunidad artística.[3]​ Su alias anterior era «la Ciudad del Renacimiento», aunque en 2010 el porcentaje de población bajo el umbral de la pobreza era del 29.1%.[4]​

Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design is an art museum in Providence affiliated with the Rhode Island School of Design, in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. The museum was founded in 1877 and is the 20th largest art museum in the United States.

Annmary Brown Memorial

Annmary Brown Memorial is an art museum, library and mausoleum at Brown University. It is located at 21 Brown Street in Providence, Rhode Island. It is one of six libraries comprising the University Library system. Before merging with the university in 1948, the museum was founded as an independent collection by General Rush Hawkins and his wife, Annmary Brown. The Hawkinses are interred in a crypt at the building. The building was constructed in 1903 by architect Norman Isham. Today, the museum features a wide array of art from around the world.The building housed a well known collection of 450 incunabula for many years. In 1990, the collection was moved to the John Hay Library.

Rhode Island State House

The Rhode Island State House is the capitol of the state of Rhode Island, located on the border of the Downtown and Smith Hill sections of Providence. It is a neoclassical building which houses the Rhode Island General Assembly and the offices of the governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and general treasurer of Rhode Island. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
