Newark and Sherwood est un district non-métropolitain du Nottinghamshire, en Angleterre. Le district est essentiellement rural et comprend d'importantes exploitations forestières, ainsi que les villes de Newark-on-Trent, où siège le conseil de district, Southwell et Ollerton. Le district de Newark and Sherwood a été créé le 1er avril 1974 par le Local Government Act 1972 et est issu de la fusion du district municipal de Newark et des districts ruraux de Newark et de Southwell. À l'origine, il portait le nom de Newark. Il a acquis son appellation actuelle le 1er avril 1995.

Thoresby Hall

Thoresby Hall is a grade I listed 19th-century country house in Budby, Nottinghamshire, some 2 miles north of Ollerton. It is one of four neighbouring country houses and estates in the Dukeries in north Nottinghamshire all occupied by dukes at one time during their history. The hall is constructed of rock-faced ashlar with ashlar dressings. It is built in four storeys with a square floor plan surrounding a central courtyard, nine bays wide and eight bays deep.

Upton Hall is the headquarters of the British Horological Institute in Upton, Newark and Sherwood, Nottinghamshire, England. It has been the headquarters since 1972. It also houses the Museum of Timekeeping consisting of a substantial collection of clocks, watches and also a library. The Museum is open to the public during seasonal summer opening hours, for special events and for pre-booked Group tours.
