ミラノ(伊: Milano [miˈlaːno] )は、イタリア北部にある都市で、ミラノ県の県都およびロンバルディア州の州都である。イタリアを代表する世界都市。イタリア語のアクセントの関係でミラーノと記されることもある。英語ではミラン(英: Milan [mᵻˈlæn, mᵻˈlɑːn])、フランス語ではミラン(仏: Milan)、ドイツ語ではマイラント(独: Mailand)、スペイン語ではミラン(西: Milán)、ラテン語ではメディオラーヌム(羅: Mediolanum)という。

The Diocesan Museum of Milan is an art museum in Milan housing a permanent collection of sacred artworks, especially from Milan and Lombardy. Originally conceived by Ildefonso Schuster in 1931 as a vehicle to protect and promote the art collection of the Archdiocese of Milan, the museum was eventually established in the former headquarters of the Dominican Order in the back of the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio with the support of Pope Paul VI. In 2001 Carlo Maria Martini inaugurated the current venue located in Porta Ticinese.

日本語版はまだご利用いただけません。 The Policlinico of Milan also known as Ospedale Maggiore di Milano or Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, is one of the oldest hospitals in Italy, founded by Duke Francesco Sforza in 1456. Today it is a modern hospital with 900 beds, with wards for adults, pregnant women and children. There are three different emergency rooms for different categories of patients. The maternity ward has the highest number of births in Lombardy. The Foundation is a scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care , which means that, alongside clinical activity, it promotes research programs with predominantly translational purposes. The programs are concerned with the rapid transfer of therapies from the laboratory to patients.
