ニューヨーク公共図書館（New York Public Library、略称：NYPL） は、アメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク市に所在する公共図書館。私立の図書館としては世界屈指の規模をもち、年間の予算額3億4000万ドル（約340億円）、年間来館者数は約1700万人にのぼる。 4つの中央図書館に加え、ニューヨーク市内マンハッタン区、ブロンクス区、およびスタテンアイランド区の各所に大小合わせて88の地域分館と、研究目的のために公開されている4つのリサーチ・ライブラリー（研究図書館、日本でいう専門図書館にあたる）を有する。 名称には「パブリック（公共）」という語が含まれているが、設置主体はニューヨーク市ではなくあくまで民間の非営利組織 で、年間予算の約5分の1程度を民間からの寄付でまかなっている。利用は原則として無料で、ニューヨーク市に在住あるいは勤務している者であれば誰でも会員になることができる。 別組織であるブルックリン区のブルックリン公共図書館 、およびクイーンズ区のクイーンズ公共図書館 の図書館システムを合わせると、ニューヨーク市全体では200以上の分館がある。 インターネットを積極的に活用した情報発信や数多くの教育プログラムを開催しており、ニューヨークにおける総合的な教育・研究機関として機能している。グーテンベルク聖書やカポーティの草稿を始め、歴史的にも貴重な蔵書を多数所蔵している。 本館はマンハッタン区ミッドタウン5番街と42丁目のブライアント・パーク内にあり、その豪奢なボザール建築で観光名所としても知られている。1911年に竣工した。トレードマークはライオンの Leoである。

The Museum of the City of New York is a history and art museum in Manhattan, New York City, New York. It was founded by Henry Collins Brown, in 1923 to preserve and present the history of New York City, and its people. It is located at 1220–1227 Fifth Avenue between East 103rd to 104th Streets, across from Central Park in Manhattan's Upper East Side, at the northern end of the Museum Mile section of Fifth Avenue. The red brick with marble trim museum was built in 1929–30 and was designed by Joseph H. Freedlander in the neo-Georgian style, with statues of Alexander Hamilton and DeWitt Clinton by sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman facing Central Park from niches in the facade.The museum is a private non-profit organization which receives government support as a member of New York City's Cultural Institutions Group, commonly known as "CIG"s. Its other sources of income are endowments, admission fees, and contributions.The museum is hosting the "New York At Its Core" permanent exhibition, the first-ever museum presentation of New York City's full history.

Dahesh Museum of Art

The Dahesh Museum of Art is the only museum in the United States devoted to the collection and exhibition of European academic art of the 19th and 20th century. The collection, located in Manhattan, New York City, originated with Lebanese writer, humanist, and philosopher Salim Moussa Achi , whose pen name was Dr. Dahesh. The core of the museum's holdings consists of Dahesh's collection of more than 2,000 academic paintings, which includes many notable Orientalist paintings.The Museum's regular exhibition space closed in 2008, leaving the museum temporarily available only online and in traveling exhibitions. In early 2012, the Museum reopened an office and gift shop in Manhattan's Hudson Square neighborhood, near SoHo. Renovations began in 2015 on the museum's new permanent home at 178 East 64th Street. According to the museum's website, the opening is anticipated in winter 2019-2020.

コロンビア大学（Columbia University）はアメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク州ニューヨークに本部を置く私立総合大学で、アイビー・リーグの一つ。各種大学ランキングでつねに最上位に位置する全米屈指の名門校で、全米で5番目に古い大学である。イギリス植民地時代に英国国王の勅許により創立されたキングズ・カレッジが起源。「コロンビア」はアメリカ大陸を指す雅語で、正式名称は Columbia University in the City of New York。 幅広い分野で世界最高水準の研究が行われる拠点として100名を超すノーベル賞受賞者を出したほか、映画・文学など芸術分野も活発で、28名のアカデミー賞受賞者・90人超のピューリッツァー賞受賞者を輩出している。最近の著名な卒業生は第44代アメリカ大統領バラク・オバマ。 米国の大学でも特に学生の国際色が豊かなことで知られ、外国籍の学生比率は33%に達する。これまで34名の元留学生が世界各国で大統領・首相となった。留学生の出身国は延べ144カ国に上り、生存しているOBは世界189カ国で32万人を数える。 2018年現在の学生数は 32,429名、学部生の男女比は男性 48%・女性 52%。学部生の合格率は約5〜6％で、米国ではハーバード大学やプリンストン大学と並んで入学が最難関のグループに属する。2020年のU.S. Newsランキングでは、プリンストン大学、ハーバード大学に次いで全米第3位（同列3位はMITとイェール大学）。

The Jewish Museum is an art museum and repository of cultural artifacts, housed at 1109 Fifth Avenue, in the former Felix M. Warburg House, along the Museum Mile in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The first Jewish museum in the United States, as well as the oldest existing Jewish museum in the world, it contains the largest collection of art and Jewish culture excluding Israeli museums, more than 30,000 objects. While its collection was established in 1904 at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, the museum did not open to the public until 1947 when Felix Warburg's widow sold the property to the Seminary. It focuses both on artifacts of Jewish history and on modern and contemporary art. The museum's collection exhibition, Scenes from the Collection, is supplemented by multiple temporary exhibitions each year.

New York City Public Design Commission

The New York City Public Design Commission, known legally as the Art Commission, is the agency of the New York City government that reviews permanent works of architecture, landscape architecture, and art proposed on or over city-owned property.The Art Commission comprises 11 members who, by law, must include an architect, a landscape architect, a painter, a sculptor, and three lay members, as well as representatives of the Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, and the Mayor of New York City. It was renamed by mayor Michael Bloomberg on July 21, 2008 as the Public Design Commission, except where the legal name "Art Commission" is required.
