Nottingham é uma cidade da Inglaterra, no Reino Unido. Foi a antiga sede administrativa de Nottinghamshire, sendo atualmente uma autoridade unitária da Inglaterra. Tem cerca de 300 mil habitantes. Tem origem num povoado saxão do século VI. É visitada por muitos turistas devido o seu reconhecimento como berço de Robin Hood. Um lugar muito visitado que guarda relação com o "príncipe dos ladrões" é a Sherwood Forest, ao norte da cidade, onde o saqueador viveu escondido fora da lei.

Em 1067, Guilherme I de Inglaterra mandou ali construir uma primeira estrutura de madeira, sendo que em 1170 Henrique II de Inglaterra reconstruiu o castelo, desta vez em pedra, e tornando-o na principal fortaleza das terras altas.

Nottingham Trent University é uma universidade pública localizada em Nottingham, condado de Nottinghamshire, Inglaterra. Foi fundada como uma new university , oriunda da antiga Trent Polytechnic . Suas raízes remontam a 1843, com o estabelecimento da Nottingham Government School of Design, que existe ainda hoje dentro da Universidade. Esta é uma das maiores instituições de ensino superior do Reino Unido, com mais de 28,000 estudantes divididos em três campi diferentes. A Nottingham Trent foi classificada no número 700 e acima no mundo pelo QS World University Rankings. Em 2008, The Complete University Guide nomeou Nottingham Trent a "melhor universidade pós-1992" do país.A universidade possui "um dos melhores recordes de empregabilidade de qualquer universidade na Inglaterra e no País de Gales". Mantém laços estreitos com mais de 6.000 empresas e 94% dos alunos progridem para um emprego de tempo integral ou para estudos avançados no prazo de seis meses de graduação.O jornal The Guardian classificou Nottingham Trent como "a universidade mais amiga do ambiente no país".Em 2009 também foi agraciada com o título de "a universidade mais amiga do ambiente no Reino Unido" pelo grupo The People & Planet Green League . Além disso, desde 2009, 100% da energia elétrica da universidade é gerada por fontes renováveis.A universidade tem um braço de pesquisa forte, sendo que, em 2008, 74% da pesquisa ali realizada foi considerada de "status internacional".

Djanogly City Academy

Djanogly City Academy is a City Academy secondary school in Nottingham, England. It has been open since 2003, when it replaced the oversubscribed Djanogly CTC, a City Technology College, which was then independent from local authority control. The academy specialises in the use of ICT and has been awarded the ICT Mark. It is named after its sponsor, textile millionaire Sir Harry Djanogly. Djanogly formerly operated on two sites – the 14–19 Centre in the old CTC building in Sherwood Rise, and the 11–14 Centre in a new building designed by Foster & Partners on the site of the former Forest Comprehensive School on Gregory Boulevard, opposite the Forest Recreation Ground. The Sherwood Rise site now accommodates the primary aged children. However, towards the end of the school year, year 11 students are accommodated here to study and take their gcse examinations.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Nottinghamshire. The club's limited overs team is called the Notts Outlaws. The county club was founded in 1841, although teams had played first-class cricket under the Nottinghamshire name since 1835. The county club has always held first-class status. Nottinghamshire have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club plays most of its home games at the Trent Bridge cricket ground in West Bridgford, Nottingham, which is also a venue for Test matches. The club has played matches at numerous other venues in the county.

Nottingham Council House
