Курск — город областного значения в России, административный центр Курской области, а также Курского района. В состав административного и муниципального района не входит, образует самостоятельный городской округ.
Расположен в 519 км к югу от Москвы. В средние века — столица Курского княжества, в 1918 году — место пребывания Временного рабоче-крестьянского правительства Украины.
Археологические исследования показывают, что на месте нынешнего Знаменского монастыря Курска существовал крупный населённый пункт не позднее VIII века.
С 1508 года — южный пограничный город в составе Московского государства. В том же году началось его восстановление как города-крепости. В 1797 году ему присвоен статус губернского города. Курск — место кровопролитных боёв Великой Отечественной войны, «Город воинской славы» , награждён орденом Отечественной войны I степени «за мужество и стойкость, проявленные трудящимися города в годы Великой Отечественной войны, а также успехи в хозяйственном и культурном строительстве» .
Город — один из культурных, религиозных центров России. Курск обладает крупным промышленным комплексом, научно-образовательными центрами. Курск — транспортный узел центральной России.
Friedrich Karl von Schönborn was the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg and Prince-Bishop of Bamberg from 1729 to 1746. He also served as Reichsvizekanzler of the Holy Roman Empire from 1705 to 1734.

The Berlin Art Library is an agency of the Berlin State Museums under the auspices of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It has approximately 400,000 volumes and ranks among Germany's leading institutions specializing in the literature of Art History. The library is located on the Kulturforum in Berlin-Tiergarten, Germany and attracts 35,000 visitors annually.The Library also has a comprehensive photographic collection. Its holdings date back to the very early days of photography, through Pictorialism around the late 19th and early 20th centuries, through the Neues Sehen or New Vision of the 1920s, to the new artistic styles of the present day. Since June 2004, the collection has held exhibitions under the same roof as the Helmut Newton Foundation at the Museum of Photography opposite the Zoologischer Garten station. After a complete restoration of the Kaisersaal, the Art Library Photographic Collection now has its own exhibition space.
Selections of works from the library's many other collections are regularly presented in special exhibitions. The neighboring Kupferstichkabinett Berlin concentrates primarily on fine art drawings and prints. The Art Library does not circulate, but its collections can be viewed upon request in the Art Library's study room.

The Kreeger Museum is a modern and contemporary art museum located in Washington D.C. It is located in the former home of David Lloyd Kreeger and Carmen Kreeger.
Royal Tichelaar Makkum is a Dutch pottery company in Makkum. After initially producing bricks and later pottery and tiles, the company has focused on traditional decorative pottery since 1890. As the company in Makkum has always made ceramics, Royal Tichelaar Makkum is regarded as one of the oldest companies in the Netherlands.
The Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art is located in Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Arata Isozaki, it sits on a hill straddling the three wards of Kokura Kita, Tobata, and Yahata Higashi. The museum houses more than 6,000 pieces of art, as well as offering various exhibitions throughout the year. The surrounding park not only offers a pleasant view over Tobata but is also a peaceful oasis with artwork in the form of sculptures scattered throughout.

In 2017, the college was listed as 'good' following an inspection by Ofsted.The college's motto is the same motto as that of the Order of the Garter. Kendal Museum is a local museum in Kendal, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District in northwest England. It was founded in 1796 and includes collections of local archaeology, history, and geology, and a natural history collection from around the globe. The museum also features a changing programme of temporary exhibitions and displays, events, walks, and talks. The museum has a large natural history taxidermy collection, and features a stuffed polar bear and a model of a dodo.
The museum is open three days a week from Thursday to Saturday, with a charge of £5 and £2 for admission, with Under 5's going free. The opening hours are 9.30am to 4.45pm with last entry at 4pm.
