Adirondack Experience , located on NY-30 in the hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake in Hamilton County, New York, is a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Adirondacks. The museum is located on the site of an historic summer resort hotel, the Blue Mountain House, built high above Blue Mountain Lake in 1876 by Miles Tyler Merwin, that operated until the late 1940s. The museum consists of 23 buildings, 121 acres, and 60,000 square feet of exhibition space. The opening of a brand new 19,000 square foot exhibition, Life in the Adirondacks, took place July 2017.
Adirondack Experience is open late-May to mid-October.
The museum's collections include historic artifacts, photographs, indigenous arts, archival materials, and fine art documenting the region's past in twenty-four buildings including historic structures and contemporary galleries. The museum offers special events, traditional workshops, demonstrations by artisans-in-residence, and school field trips . The museum contains a research library which is accessible year-round; its publication program has produced 65 books of Adirondack history, art histories, and museum catalogs.

The facility is located in a building which was formerly the Mile End Old Town Vestry Hall built in 1862. The building was converted into a library in 1902 with money from Andrew Carnegie.

El proyecto fue ideado por George Washington y construido en 1790 bajo la dirección del arquitecto de origen irlandés James Hoban, en estilo Neoclásico.[1] El presidente Washington, junto con el arquitecto de la ciudad, Pierre Charles L'Enfant, escogió el sitio donde se construiría. Mediante un concurso se eligió al arquitecto, nativo de Dublín, que ganó la medalla de oro por la presentación del diseño que hoy conocemos.
El diseño de la Casa Blanca se vio inspirado por la Leinster House , y Castletown House , ambas siguiendo el estilo del Palladianismo.
Como su nombre lo indica, es un edificio blanco localizado en Pennsylvania Avenue Nº 1600 al noroeste de Washington D. C.. Proyectada durante el primer mandato de George Washington, el edificio fue inaugurado por John Adams en 1800. Formalmente, el edificio recibió los nombres de Palacio Presidencial, la Mansión Ejecutiva, hasta que el presidente Theodore Roosevelt en 1902 propuso al Congreso que adoptara oficialmente el nombre de «La Casa Blanca».[2]
El Museo Foundling de Londres cuenta la historia del Hospital Foundling, que fue la primera casa dedicada al cuidado de niños abandonados del Reino Unido. El museo alberga la Colección de Arte del Hospital de Niños Expósitos y la Gerald Coke Händel Collection, la mayor colección privada del mundo de recuerdos de Georg Friedrich Händel.
El museo exhibe los trabajos realizados por el fundador del orfanato Thomas Coram, así como el artista William Hogarth y el compositor George Frideric Händel, ambos grandes benefactores de la institución. County Hall is the main government building for Surrey County Council in England. It was opened 13 November 1893, and is located in Kingston upon Thames. County Hall is a landmark in Kingston and contains a clock tower entrance, sculptures, plaques of Surrey MPs and Lord Sheriffs, and the council chamber. It is located on Penrhyn Road, named in honour of the first chairman of the county council. It is a Grade II listed building.

St Anne's College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in England. It was founded in 1879 and received full college status in 1952. Once a women's college, it has been coeducational since 1979. It has some 450 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. It retains an original aim of allowing women of any financial background to study at Oxford. A recent count shows St Anne's accepting the highest proportion of female students of any college. The College stands between the Woodstock and Banbury roads, next to the University Parks and Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. In April 2017, Helen King, a retired Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner, took over as Principal from Tim Gardam. Former members include Danny Alexander, Ruth Deech, Helen Fielding, Martha Kearney, Simon Rattle, John Robins and Victor Ubogu.
The Spencer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, Kansas. The museum houses collection that currently numbers nearly 36,000 artworks and artifacts in all media. The collection spans the history of European and American art from ancient to contemporary, and includes broad holdings of East Asian art. Areas of special strength include medieval art; European and American paintings, sculpture and prints; photography; Japanese Edo period painting and prints; 20th-century Chinese painting; and KU’s ethnographic collection, which includes about 10,000 Native American, African, Latin American and Australian works.
The Somerset Military Museum is part of the Museum of Somerset located in the 12th century great hall of Taunton Castle, in Taunton, Somerset. It is a "registered and accredited museum" with the British Museums, Libraries, and Archives Council, and is a part of the Museum of Somerset. The museum covers Somerset's military history from 1685 onward. It received a £10,000 grant from the Somerset Military Museum Trust for the restoration project.
The Sid Richardson Museum is located in historic Sundance Square in Fort Worth, Texas, and features permanent and special exhibitions of paintings by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, as well as some additional late 19th-century works about the American West. The works, reflecting both the art and reality of the American West, are the legacy of the late oilman and philanthropist, Sid Williams Richardson, and were acquired by him from 1942 until his death in 1959. The collection also includes works by Oscar E. Berninghaus, Charles F. Browne, Edwin W. Deming, William Gilbert Gaul, Peter Hurd, Frank Tenney Johnson, William R. Leigh, Peter Moran and Charles Schreyvogel.Opened in 1982, the museum is housed in a replica of an 1895 building in an area of restored turn of-the-century buildings in downtown Fort Worth. The site was chosen by the Sid Richardson Foundation trustees both for its convenience to downtown visitors and workers and for the historic atmosphere of the area.
The Museum offers tours and a variety of educational programs and events for adults, children and families including lectures, movies, hands on studio activities, and camps. Tours are available to visitors, school and community groups. Admission is free.
In 2006 the Sid Richardson Museum reopened in its new building which features expanded exhibition, educational and retail space and facilities.
La iglesia de San Roque ? es un edificio religioso situado en Campo San Rocco, en el sestiere de San Polo en Venecia . En la misma plaza se encuentra también la Scuola Grande di San Rocco, destacada por sus numerosas pinturas obra de Tintoretto.
La Basílica de San Pablo Extramuros es una de las cuatro basílicas mayores católicas —junto con San Pedro, San Juan de Letrán y Santa María la Mayor—y una de las cinco iglesias consideradas como las más antiguas de Roma . Es la segunda basílica mayor de Roma, después de San Pedro, de la que dista 11 kilómetros. Según la tradición es el lugar donde el apóstol Pablo fue enterrado. En 2005 el cardenal Andrea Cordero Lanza di Montezemolo fue nombrado arcipreste de la basílica. La basílica representa al arte paleocristiano.
La basílica, y todo el complejo anexo, incluyendo la abadía, son parte de la República Italiana, y propiedad extraterritorial de la Santa Sede. La basílica es una de las iglesias que se deben de visitar en el peregrinaje de las siete iglesias de Roma para alcanzar la indulgencia plenaria en Año Santo.
En 1990 fue incluida en la lista del Patrimonio de la Humanidad en Europa por la Unesco, con el número de identificación 91-013.[1]
La basílica de Santo Domingo es uno de los principales lugares de culto de Bolonia y sede principal de la Orden Dominica. En la iglesia, dentro del Arca de Santo Domingo , se encuentran los restos de Santo Domingo, el fundador de la Orden Dominica. También están los restos del beato Jacobo de Ulm Griesinger en el transepto izquierdo del templo.
